ENDO CORONARY STENTS. In coronary artery obstruction, the modern angioplasty techniques provide the insertion, by mean of a probe, of endo coronary stents. When the project was developed in 1997, stents were traditionally handmade, shaping a steel wire with a diameter of about 0.2 mm. For quality assurance reasons, such devices would have to be made by means of a fully automated machine. Therefore the machine was based on a parametric model defined “a priori” and on values of different parameters, like wire diameter, and diameter of final spiral. |
